WHO IS HYMNSON?

Hymnson was born in Calgary, Canada but grew up in Boston as the "rebel child" of a Baptist Pastor father and conservative immigrant mother in an Irish Catholic community, so cultural expectations and identity/racial issues were embedded into him early. Having been the “token” through his time at a private high school, as the only Asian player on the Syracuse University football team, and even his fraternity days at SU and UCLA, Hymnson decided Hollywood is where he'd make his mark.

As a dedicated advocate for diversity and AAPI representation, Hymnson uses his screenwriting to break stereotypes, challenge social “norms” and spotlight social justice themes in fun, action-packed stories that creates EMPATHY and EMPOWERS underrepresented communities. Hymnson was a WINNER in the WeScreenplay TV Contest, WINNER of the Roadmap Writers Genre Conference Pitch Competition, a comedy writer for NBC's Diversity Showcase, a FINALIST for the Stowe Story Labs and WeScreenplay Feature Lab, a Semifinalist in Diverse Voices and the Mentorship Matters Program, among many other accolades.

Hymnson has also built up extensive acting credits (imdb.me/hymnson). Such as Recurring on the final season of "CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM" opposite Larry David, Vince Vaughn, and Richard Lewis, starring in a film with Billy Zane, starring in a horror-comedy opposite horror legend Kane Hodder, and costarring with Jim Carrey on the tv series "Kidding", as well as countless commercials. Considered a triple threat, Hymnson also thrives as a stuntman, having worked blockbuster movies and countless hit TV shows. He won a SAG Award as part of the "AVENGERS ENDGAME" stunt team and won a Fight Choreographer award at the Artemis Film Festival.

Outside of "work", Hymnson is a diehard fan of Boston sports (but not obnoxiously...usually), volunteers with animal rescues, has 2 rescue dogs and a foster cat, enjoys learning new martial arts and combat techniques, and completed 70+ escape rooms. Not to mention, he once won a taco eating contest at a random Cinco De Mayo festival in a Ralph's parking lot (pre-Covid). Bucket list check!
